ART IN THE WORKPLACE 5th Exhibit

Spring Collection of Valeska Ramsay

Valeska Ramsay has been collecting art in Hamilton for 40 years.  She has been an important figure in the local arts community and this exhibition celebrates Valeska and her collection, as well as the artists she collects.  The McMaster University students enrolled in Art History 4H03, a seminar on the history of collecting, have focused their research this semester on the oral and written histories of artists and institutions in the Hamilton area.  They conducted interviews and undertook primary research in regional libraries, galleries and archives.  A catalogue is now available that represents a selection of the exhibition's sixty-three works and offers an important resource for future generations.  If you are interested in purchasing this collector's piece, please contact us.

Congratulations to the following artists whose artwork has been approved and is on display in the corridors of McMaster Innovation Park, March 31st - July 14th, 2011.
