McMaster Innovation Park is transforming brownfields and warehouses into a premiere research park, building on McMaster University’s existing reputation as a research centre of excellence. The Atrium is the first of many buildings to come, situated on 37 acres in the west end of Hamilton now known as McMaster Innovation Park. It is the place where visions are realized and ideas are transformed into commercial opportunities. The Atrium building boasts an award winning design, 180,000 square-foot, 4-level conference, office and laboratory facility and is home to Art in the Workplace.
Art in the Workplace was launched during the official grand opening of the Atrium building October 2009 gathering local artists to display their creative talents in the corridors of the new facility. Since then, artists, community residents and tenants have enjoyed the art display as well as gathering together to inspire one another as the artists discuss their inspirations of creativity often resulting in the artwork being sold.
Art in the Workplace is true to the Mission and Vision of McMaster Innovation Park to Co-Locate, Connect and Commercialize and is positioned to continue into the future as a foundational initiative of McMaster Innovation Park to the Artistic community of Hamilton.
