It is with a solemn spirit that we pause to offer our support and sincerest condolences to the Indigenous Community who at this time, mourns the loss of the 215 children whose remains were found in a mass unmarked grave on the grounds of the former Kamloops Residential School.

As we grieve for their memory, for their struggle and for their spirit, we wanted to let you know that the community here at McMaster Innovation Park stands in solidarity with you. To honour the lives of the unnamed, our flags at the Park will be lowered and kept at half-mast for the next nine days, representing approximately 215 hours.

We are committed to playing our part in the recognition of the contributions and historical importance of the indigenous community and strive to make the challenge of truth and reconciliation real in our community.

This territory is covered by the Upper Canada Treaties and directly adjacent to Haldimand Treaty territory, and it is land is protected by the Dish With One Spoon wampum agreement. We are grateful for the opportunity to continue to steward these lands with care and humility.
